Pack & Vac Limited collaborate on Dr Cheung's grant application submitted to the Innovation and Technology Support Programme (ITSP) for 2021/22 entitled “Multiplexed Visual Assays for Point-of-Care Diagnostics of Respiratory Infectious Diseases”.
Pack & Vac Limited is a Hong Kong based company that aims to provide hygienic solutions to food processing and packaging, thus protecting Hong Kong residents against food contamination and food poisoning.
Pack & Vac also provides HygienaTM ATP monitoring system and ATP testing related products to help our customer ensure a quick and simple way to track, trend, analyses, archive and report tests results of potential bacteria contamination of surfaces over time for food safety.
We will rent Dr Cheung our BAX® System Q7, a Real-Time-PCR platform for pathogen detection, with a 96-well format for maximum sample throughout and a multiwavelength technology allows for detection of up to three targets in a single reaction well. This system can provide him a reference standard against which can evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of LAMP assays.
We are particularly enthused on the significant health impact of your proposed multiplexed pathogen microfluidic device that can detect multiple pathogens in parallel. This will greatly improve the diagnostic capabilities of the Hong Kong industries and government agencies in a point-of-care setting. The preliminary results have elucidated the mechanisms of colorimetric and fluorometric detection of LAMP-amplified pathogen DNA, and further improved the sensitivity and specific that can positively transform the way LAMP assays are perceived as less specific compared to the conventional RT-PCR methods.
